Description

In the early 1980s, wine grape growers in South Australia were offered financial incentives to pull out their vines and plant alternative crops which appeared, at the time, to have a greater future.

Forgoing a quick dollar and believing in his maturing vines Raymond Seidel backed his judgement and forged ahead with the wine grapes his father in law, Arthur Baust, planted in 1965.

At over 50 years old, these Cabernet Sauvignon vines are now some of the oldest left in McLaren Vale, producing some of the best low yielding fruit found in the region.

Our rare patch of Cabernet Sauvignon is nurtured by Mark McCarthy using organic fertilisers and rock minerals, without pesticides, amongst our apple and pear trees.

Our grapes are fermented using natural yeast, then matured in French oak barrels for a further 12 months. Blackberry and mocha savoury notes, along with luscious wafts of fresh mint and eucalypt, are characteristics which blossom in our maritime climate.

Drink now or cellar for years to come.
PS The Lolly Legs Cabernet is affectionately named after our daughter Tilly.
