Only 2 rows are grafted on our farm to this fine grape which originates from Portugal. Nurtured with organic fertilisers and rock minerals, without pesticides, amongst our apple and pear trees.
Touriga Nacional is a thick skinned, low yielding grape. Skins are rich in colour and tannins giving excellent structure and ageing capacity.
Our grapes are hand picked and open fermented using natural yeast, then matured in French oak barrels for a further 12 months. Savour one of only 300 bottles we produce each year.
Intense flavour as well as lighter floral and fruity ripe raspberry notes with complex hints of herbs and liquorice.
Ps. The Hally Touriga Nacional is named after our dad, dad in law and local legend, John Hall.
